SI-Clubs entlang der Donau vernetzen sich /SI Clubs along the Danube join in network

Vom 12.-15.7.2018 fand im Rahmen des 11. Donaufests Ulm/Neu-Ulm  und des Partnertreffens des Bildungsnetzwerks Danube-Networkers ein Treffen von Vertreterinnen von  Soroptimist International-Clubs entlang der Donau statt.

Die Vernetzung der SI-Donau-Clubs geht auf Initiative des SI-Clubs Ulm/Donaustadt zurück. Vertreterinnen von  10  Clubs aus Moldawien, Bulgarien, Rumänien,  Ungarn und Deutschland wollen innerhalb der bestehenden SI-Europa-Union eine Donau-Achse schaffen. Die Clubs aus den Donauländern wollen künftig in einem informellen Netzwerk verstärkt gemeinsam Projektarbeit machen mit dem Ziel, europäische Verständigung zwischen Zivilgesellschaften in den Donauländern  auf der Grundlage  soroptimistischer Grundsätze und Ziele zu fördern.

Am Samstag, 14.7.2018, fand ein Gründungstreffen des SI-Donau-Netzwerks statt. Die Anwesenden stellten die Arbeit des jeweiligen Clubs vor sowie Ideen für eine zukünftige Zusammenarbeit.  Eine von SI Ulm-Donaustadt  vorbereitete Resolution, die die Ziele des SI Donau-Netzwerkes näher beschreibt,  wurde diskutiert und gemeinsam verabschiedet.

Am Sonntag, den 15.7. 2018 nahmen alle anwesenden Clubs aktiv an dem Donau-Brücken-Frühstück der  Danube-Networkers auf der Herdbrücke teil,  soroptimistische Schwestern aus unsrem Link-Club Bregenz (Austria)  gesellten sich dazu – ein symbolischer Brückenschlag  über die Donau mit vielen Kontakten untereinander und den zahlreichen Besucher/-innen aus Ulm und der Region.

Die  Begegnung in Ulm war für alle Beteiligten bereichernd und sicher ein geglückter Start für eine hoffentlich fruchtbare zukünftige Zusammenarbeit.

The representatives of the Soroptimist International Clubs along the Danube had met from 12th to 15th of July 2018 within the frame of the 11th Danube Festival Ulm/New-Ulm and the meeting of the partners of the education network Danube-Networkers.

The network of the SI-Danube Club goes back to an initiative of the SI Club Ulm/Donaustadt. Representatives of 10 Clubs from Moldavia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Germany want to create a Danube-axis within the existing SI-Europe-Union. In the future, the Clubs from the Danube countries want to intensify the joint project work with the aim promoting European understanding between civil societies in the Danube countries on the basis of the soroptimist principles.

On Saturday, 14th July 2018, the founding meeting of the SI Danube-Network took place. The representatives taking part presented the work of their Clubs as well as their ideas about the future cooperation. A Resolution prepared by the SI Ulm-Donaustadt, describing the goals of the SI Danube-Network, was discussed and adopted.

On the Sunday, the 14th of July 20918, all representatives of the Clubs took part in the Danube-Networkers’ Danube-Bridge-Breakfast on the Herdbrücke, the Soroptimist sisters from Bregenz, Austria, joined in – a symbolic bridge over the Danube with much communication and many visitors from Ulm and its region.

The meeting in Ulm was enriching for all participants and surely a successful start for a hopefully fruitful future cooperation.
